Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide (DSIP)
Neurotransmitter Regulation: DSIP can enhance the activity of GABAergic neurons and inhibit the excitatory transmission of glutamate, thereby enhancing the sedative effect.
Hypothalamic-Pituitary Axis Regulation: DSIP can modulate the release of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and cortisol, indirectly affecting the sleep-wake cycle.
